Gregory "Mac" McPhail

Eddie Basden is a former professional basketball player whose career was defined by versatility, defensive excellence, and an unwavering commitment to winning. A native of New York who developed his game at Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland, Basden emerged as one of the nation’s top high-school wing players before starring at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

During his four-year career with the Charlotte 49ers, Basden helped lead the program to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a Conference USA regular-season championship. He was named Conference USA Player of the Year in 2005 and Defensive Player of the Year in 2004 and 2005, while earning All-America recognition. He finished his Charlotte career as the school's all-time leader in steals, with 264, and his No. 13 jersey was later retired.

Undrafted in the 2005 NBA Draft, Basden earned an opportunity with the Chicago Bulls, appearing in 19 NBA games during the 2005–06 season. He subsequently continued his professional career internationally, playing in leagues across Europe and Latin America, including Turkey, France, Germany, and other international markets.

Today, Basden's basketball journey represents more than professional achievement—it reflects the value of preparation, defensive discipline, perseverance, and the ability to compete at every level of the game.
